Love’s Chronicles – Entry #73: Shine Your Light for the Weary Travelers

I can only compare the journey I’m on to an EXTREME obstacle course. The kind that tests your endurance to the limits. The prize? Equivalent to 1 billion dollars.

Before I embarked on this journey, I felt I was so ready! All I could see was the end and winning the grand prize. I talked about all the things I would be willing to do to get there, I even said that quitting would NOT be an option. I said everything that sounded good to the press. However, I had no idea that actually walking the line would be so much harder than I could have ever imagined.

Since I’ve been actually “walking the line”, I have been challenged on every single level imaginable, and before making the journey, I hypothesized that the most I’d have to do, if I were to make an analogy, would be to walk on coals of fire. Honey?! I’ve not only had to walk on coals, but eat live roaches with worm pâté and bird piss to wash it down, climb mount everest without a damn jacket  and swim across the Pacific…and I can’t even fucking swim lol.

Its been a VERY long journey and I’m still on it. I have wanted to give up so many times, more than I can count, but at my lowest points there have always been my guardian angels sending others to inspire me to keep going. As I made my journey they would stop right in front of my path and say or do JUST the right things that set my spirit back in motion to get to that grand prize.

Just today as I was caring for my grandmother, I set my plans, mentally in stone, that I was going to go back to Arizona and back to my old job. It had all become more than I could bare and I was ready to just walk away from this journey and back to more familiar territory. And JUST as I did two travelers (in photo Organic Blood, Tiffany & Malik) who had been through a similar EXTREME obstacle course appeared along my path and I just lost it emotionally. They spoke about how they had been on a similar journey and beat all the obstacles and made it out on the other end, a bright and shining example. And now, they shine their light for us weary travelers, offering food and sustenance for the soul. And as they comfort us, they have on their faces the biggest and most beautiful smiles and they say to us all…

Keep Going, Trust Us

And sometimes thats all we need to hear and it was EXACTLY what I needed in that moment. I’ve revved up my engine on the new fuel that they inspired me to generate and I’m continuing on my journey. The funny thing about all of this is that it feels as if I’ve been down this path before and know I’ll win the prize and sometimes I just forget; but, as long as I remember how GREAT it felt to win that prize…its all the motivation one would ever need.

Happy Travels Beloveds
